More testing results…

I shut down all my apps except finder.
When I get stuck with the non-appearing Extras Menu I then launch the VO
Utility app and then close it with Cmd+Q
Then the VO+m works exactly as it should … except for the following events:

1. VO+m twice to the Extras menu which comes up, but I also hear “finder busy”
If I wait, then another VO+m drops to the apple menu like a good computer
should.
And I can go back/forth just fine.

2. VO+M twice to the extras menu, which comes up
No “finder busy” message, no “finder Ready” message
VO+m and I’m dropped into the content of the finder.
Another VO+M puts me bak to a non-appearing Extras menu — I’m stuck again.
Invoking the VO utilities app and shutting off again will restore correct
operation.

I’m beginning to suspect that the “finder Busy “ is the clue.
If my finder is struggling with a lot of stuff in the background, could that be
preventing the Extras (and sometimes the Apple) menu from appearing?

I do have three network drives and my backup drive on my desktop, along with
several alias items. Is there just too much junk?
