Hi Jonathan, It was mainly due to my sierra installer being from an earlier time and therefore would have needed me to change the date / time to get it installed.
Turns out I didn’t need to do that even though the machines I was on were el capitan and mavericks, Oh and snow leopard, And what a job recovering data off them when you need to use a usb flash drive as a back up device.
