Hello, I am running the latest Catalina. I have a 512 GB external SSD. I would like to split this into 2 volumes so that I could create bootable backups for each of my iMac and MacBook using SuperDuper. In both cases the internal SSD is less than 150 GB. I am advised that I need 2 Volumes each set up as AFS, not 2 partitions. Can I do this using disk utility? I have a look at disk utility and it is not obvious how to do this. Many thanks … Paul Hopewell P.S. I used to create bootable backups to a 256 GB USB memory stick. This was unreliable and took several hours. As a test I created a bootable backup on the 512 GB external SSD set up as a single volume and it took only 17 minutes!
