While we're discussing keychain, it may be worth mentioning that, as I recently found out, you can store your ssh key on your Mac OS keychain. The Mac OS version of ssh-add supports the -K option, which adds keys to the keychain.
You can then edit ~/.ssh/config and add the following lines: AddKeysToAgent yes And an additional line for each key, as in: IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_ed25519 And so on for each key, if you have more than one. I suspect I'm not the only one here who finds this useful.
