I have a Basic D and getting it to work with my Mac is on my to do list. I had 
heard it was pretty complicated, however, and that Ibraille hadn't been updated 
in ages. Are you using Snow Leopard? I think Ibraille came out when Tiger did 
and may not have been updated much since then. I've used my Basic D on windows, 
embossing using winbraille from within MS Word. On a mac, I don't have Word, of 
course, since its inaccessible. So what app are you using to make documents 
that you then emboss? I find the Index documentation somewhat obtuse, so would 
love some more details as to the ins and outs of this process and what do do 
once you get the Basic D up and running so that the Mac sees it.
