I generally enter the first two or three characters, which is usually enough to find the desired file quickly (the same strategy irrespective of operating system).
I’m used to Linux/UNIX tab completion at the shell prompt. That’s the background I’m coming from. In a list of files in a folder, I want to find a file starting with the letter “B”. I press the “b” key and up comes the first file starting with that letter. From old habit, I then press the “b” key again and realize that I will not jump to the next file starting with “b””. Instead I need to type more of that filename in order to come up with it. I really miss just being able to tap the same key to jump from one to another. Is there a setting somewhere that could make this happen?
