Hi,

I don't believe that there is a specific method by which you can delete the
group on the iPhone. I'm not even sure how you would create a contact group on
the iPhone. So, basically, to get rid of it, I believe that you'll need to get
it migrated to your iCloud contacts so that you can use your Mac to delete it.
So, to accomplish this, I'd do the following:

• go to Settings, Your Name, iCloud, then uncheck the box beside Contacts.

This should bring up a dialog where it asks if you want to download your
contacts to the iPhone or just leave them in iCloud.

• I suggest you leave them in iCloud and have them removed from your iPhone.

This should then only have that group and/or any other locally stored contacts
on the iPhone, and all your important ones will be up in iCloud. You can
confirm by going to your Mac and checking what contacts are there.

• now, back out of iCloud all the way to the top level of Settings, then get to
the Home screen.

• wait a few minutes. While waiting, check that all the contacts on your Mac
are the way you want them.

The waiting process is meant to ensure that everything has time to be removed
from the iPhone.

• go back into Settings, Your Name, iCloud and check the box for Contacts.

If everything is right in the world, and the stars are aligned, it should ask
if you wish to merge the contacts currently on your iPhone with those in
iCloud. Your answer would be affirmative. This would, therefore, add any
currently local contacts and contact groups to your iCloud contact database.
Give it a few minutes, then go to your Mac and see if the offending group is
present within the Contacts app on your Mac. If yes, delete it.

This should do the trick. Note that I use the word "should". That's my catch
word so that if it doesn't work, I can still save face.

Later...

What have you tried so far? I only have individual contacts on my phone so not
sure on how to delete an entire group.
More info?
Thanks,
