I have one very strong piece of advice for you.
Unless you want to risk this individuals rights to service, you absolutely must direct this question, including telling the service that you asked on this list to the nls arena that manages downloads. I have no idea why anyone would think nls books are ghetto, the collection is rather diverse actually. However I do understand NLS has good reason to be paranoid about the digital collection, and has put protections that prevent anyone from getting books who are not supposed to have them. I have the link to the list service somewhere, but am sure you can find it at
www.loc.gov/nls.
hope this helps,
Karen

I know that many people on this list are not from the United States, and
I also know that many others on this list consider NLS books to be "getto"
books, nonetheless, I ask my question.
I need to teach someone how to download NLS books and unzip them to a thumb
drive or a blank cartridge so that they can play them on their NLS player.
Can anyone help me with this? The person in question has access to a Mac,
but not to a Windows machine.
So, what they will need to do is download the book and unzip the book to a
thumb drive attached to their Mac.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
