Hi Traci,

Yeah I've looked at these machines also.

The processor has been dropped / changed from a dual core i5 1.5GHz
To a quad core I5 or I7 and I think 1.2 or 1.4 GHz processors.

I'd personally be looking at the highest I7 possible processor and 16GB ram
with minimum 512GB ssd.

That does hike the price up but that will give you another 6 plus years out of
the machine.

I am running a mid 2013 11" mac book air custom build and it's had a few hard
knocks but it will need to be updated at some point soon and the air is my
preferred for weight and size.

Subject: New MacBook Air advice?

Hi all, I was doing a little research on the new 13.3 MacBook Air. I may be
upgrading from the Mid 2011 model. Would you agree with the following?

Opting for the core i5 and 8 gb memory is a good mix of power and value? One
article suggested upgrading to the 16 gb is unnecessary and bumping into the
MacBook pro tier. I wouldn’t say I am a power user, but as you can tell, I keep
my technology for a long time.

I haven’t researched new laptops or computers for a while. I welcome any and
all advice for proformance matching value.

Thank you,
Traci
