Hello,
If you used AppleScript to create this shortcut, then there is a “once” 
parameter to the “play” method, if you set this to true, it should override 
whatever is in the user interface.
Of course the JavaScript version of the scripting methods should also accept 
this as a parameter, but I haven’t tested especially in a modern system that 
has the Music application instead of iTunes.
