When you open the app you normally get a very clutter screened - teams seems to 
work using a number of windows but bits of each can show on the main window 
when it opens 

So you have activity - which is a kind of update of all the things that have 
been happening in your teams 
Chat - which is a list of all the different chat conversations and updates 
associated with either your individual teams or personal messages 
Teams - which is a list of all the different teams you are in 
Calendar - which lists all upcoming meetings and where you can schedule 
meetings 
And there are a couple more which you can customise 

You can move focus between the different bits of the screen using CMD and 1-5 
this changes the view on the main screen and can be helpful
