Here are alternate ways to access different categories in System Preferences:
1. After opening System Preferences, use VO + M, to place focus on the MenuBar, then navigate to the View menu, where you will find a list of all System Preferences categories. You can type the first few letters of a category to quickly locate it, then press the Enter key to open the item. 2. Use VO + D to place focus on the Dock, and locate System Preferences, then use VO + Shift + M, to open the Shortcut Menu for the item. This will reveal the list of System Preferences categories. You can use the down arrow to navigate the list, or type the first few letters of a category to quickly locate it, then press the Enter key to open. Note: Sometimes, after opening the Shortcut menu, the list of categories is not shown. When this happens, press the Escape key, and start over, using VO + D to place focus on the Dock, then VO + Shift + M to reopen the Shortcut menu. 3. You can also use Spotlight search, by pressing CMD + Spacebar, and typing in the name of the System Preferences category you want to access. Note: This may provide several search results, so you may need to down arrow through the list to find what you are looking for. You need to interact with this area first by pressing vo+shift+down arrow. Then you will see all the preference panes like dock, desktop, users, security & privacy, and many more. You can either vo+arrow keys to move through all the available pains or you can start typing the first few letters of the pane you want to land on it immediately. So if you start typing keyboard, you should get there quickly. Once you land on the pane you want to open, you have to press vo+spacebar to open it. Remember, some panes will require that you enter your computer password to make changes so always check at the very right of the pain whether you can see lock icon which means that you need to enter your password. You won’t need it though for keyboard pane. Hope this helps.
