When last I looked, FineReader for Mac hadn't been updated for a long
time. This naturally prompts the question of whether they're still
developing it. I had contemplated making a purchase, but decided not to
for that reason.

Here is the simple comparison. FineReader Pro is fantastic and does
a great job. DocuScan Plus is also a great OCR app and is specifically
developed for blind users. You can’t go wrong with either, but
DocuScan’s interface is a bit more straight forward through the
scanning steps.
