Hi,

I am new to using Amadeus Pro and am working my way through Jonathan
Mosen's tutorial - though it's a few years old, I'm hoping I can still
learn a lot from it.

I'm having a problem understanding what's going on with the insertion
point while the music is not playing. In the tutorial, it says that
while the file is not playing, pressing left and right arrows will
move the insertion point. Then he demonstrates this by saying "if I
press the left arrow key we're at the beginning of the file" and we
hear some audio playing. But when I press left arrow with the file
paused, I don't hear audio. He then goes on to talk about how it just
so happens the insertion point is where he wants it to make the cut he
wants. But I don't understand how he knows where the insertion point
is.

So I'm wondering whether, while sound is not playing, pressing the
left/right arrow keys is supposed to make some sound play. If not,
how can we know where the insertion point is? Perhaps this behaviour
has changed with later versions of Amadeus. Or perhaps in the
tutorial he's doing something else he doesn't describe to make the
sound at the insertion point play - though this seems very unlikely.

Please can anyone help me understand what's meant to happen to the
insertion point when we move it with the file not playing? And/or how
can I find out where the insertion point is?

Thanks,
Catherine
