NAS is "network attached storage" and is essentially a private cloud storage in your home. There are several vendors that make nas. Raid is an automatic backup system built into most large storage systems that makes copies of each file on different drives in a cluster of drives if any one of these drives fail, the system sends a notifaication and then you replace the failed drive and the system creates what was on the, failed drive. The RAID acronym contains the words redundaart inexpensive and drive. The idea being that rather than spend money on expensive more reliable disk drives you can just buy a few extra drives and get the same veval of MTTF (mean time between failures) .
