Hello, everyone if you're in the United States happy Martin Luther King
Jr. day.
I have an interesting situation here. I have a MacBook Pro 2020 Intel
addition that simply refuses to go to's if I put it to sleep the battery
discharges rapidly. Computer gets warm. My big question is since the
shipping boxes now arrived should I go without the use of this machine
for up to two weeks, because of the pandemic and shipping and other
transportation delays or is this purely a software issue that if anyone
knows what software might potentially cause this issue certainly
enlighten me on the subject. I am running Kaspersky Internet security.
Could this potentially overburdened the processor. I vaguely remember
that there were issues discussed on this list in the past about the
MacBook Air not completely going to sleep. This looks like it but
remember this is that this is a 13 inch MacBook Pro. Are they similar?
If none of this is true my other concern is this, do I have a situation
where Big Sur at least in my case got the code written for the M1
processor when this is an Intel processor in other words what I'm
getting at is is it being pushed too hard?
Final question I guess bottom line does someone think that this issue
can be fixed say in the next two weeks. Because I'm in the middle of
dealing with employment people who are helping me to find future
employment. I'm also deaf blind. Meaning I use this computer heavily for
communication with email list such as this one in addition I have an
additional disability that's called a written expression disorder.
Basically this means dyslexia of writing. So as you may guess I'm
dictating this message to the computer. Being without the computer for
two weeks certainly put an extreme damper on the things that I need to
be doing. So I want to explore every option before putting this machine
in the box and shipping it back to Apple. This is because I've been
taught that all Apple stores at this point are shuttered because of the
ubiquitous word here, praise, the pandemic. That's why it has come to this.
All I'm told is to just backup my data to ship it to them should this
become necessary. It is my intention to wipe this machine completely.
Having survived computer security classes I already know that common
sense even should say wipe the drive send it to them with no personal
data on the machine yes I do have backup hardware and software. So the
data should be fine. This includes my virtual copy of Windows and its
accompanying software. Since it is a virtual machine it's backup is of
course stored in an encrypted backup disk. Any good suggestions, would
be greatly appreciated. Because of everything that's going on this week
with me. I'm not shipping this until Thursday if it becomes necessary.
Please note as I've stated that the text of this message has been
dictated to the computer. That means there may be errors in the text
above. If there's something that you don't understand, and or need
clarification on? Please reach out to me to ask me what my original
intent was? I look forward to if it becomes necessary helping to clear
up any misunderstandings that may arise from the text above.
Note number two please note that my comments above are of a personal
nature meaning it is me my views, positions in our statements do not
