Not quite sure how all the password certification programs work. My wife
recently got an e-mail from Google services with over 50 password that it
claimed were compromised. Not terribly surprising except that some of them were
accounts that still had the email my wife used before she switched primarily to
google for email. Oh, and this was not a scam, she directly launched a browser
on the Google site and opened up the review security from there.
Also, if you open up Safari preferences, and switch to the "passwords" page
there is a four column table in this panel.
The fourth column is usually blank, but sometimes, it says duplicate or unsafe
password.
The original site dealing with compromised passwords was called "Have I benn
ponned" and in this site you put in username / password with no site
information and it would tell you if the pair had shown up in any lists of
compromised web sites.
