Hi Les, My MBA is replacing a 2017 Macbook Pro with a touch bar. It is definitely usable, and with time, you get more used to it. But I never really liked it, mostly because it’s response time was slow. Often I had to tap it several times to initiate an action or function. I personally find function keys to be much more efficient. The only thing I miss about not having it is the quick access to imogis, but for all I know, there may be a way to accomplish that on the new Mac, I haven’t really had time to explore that yet.
I got 16MB ram. I don’t plan to run Windows on it either, but I am of the opinion that more RAM is always beter. :) I also went with the faster GPU.
