Hi listers,
apologies if someone has already posted this.

A lister previously advised to use a connected mouse to turn off the touchpad
so I woldn’t accidentally use the pad to change focus. I’ve now found a way to
do this on the fly without the need for a mouse or external touchpad. I can now
turn the pad back on when I have finished so my sighted friends can use it as
intended.

Do the following:
Go to Apple preferences in Big Sur
click on Accessibility
Click on pointers in the table of options
Click on other pointer tab
Put a tick in the enable mouse keys box
Go into the mouse options pop up and tick turn off touchpad when mouse keys
enabled
Click OK

Now you can toggle the touchpad on and off with 5 quick presses of the option
key on the keyboard

Cheers
Ian
