That contradicts a different post I saw somewhere that said that iCloud syncing would be supported in a future update. That was a few years ago, so I’m not sure that status. I have the Mac version, but don’t use it much and do not use the iOS version, so can’t confirm any issues you might have. I don’t see MacJournal within the iCloud syncing options on my Mac, although there is some sort of reference to syncing in MacJournal Prefs in the Advanced pane. No mention of iCloud though. Sorry, lots of info, but not much useful stuff.
