I don't use the Mac much for programming or for writing HTML, so I'm not
in the best position to advise, but I would suggest trying TextMate as
your editor.

I'm not confident in the accessibility of Visual Studio Code. It has a
bug, for example, that prevents word wrap from being used with a screen
reader - a serious problem if you're trying to write paragraphs of text
in an HTML file. The bug is known, but, so far, no one has committed the
resources to fixing it.
