I’ve seen this option in the File menu, under Open File Location, but forgot about the CMD + R command, or how and where is can be used. This is a great and versatile tool.

So, if you have an alias for an item on your Desktop and you just can’t recall where the actual original file is, just press cmd-r and it the MacOS will open the in the Finder the window where it is.
