Hi, There are two main modes with the AirPod Pro. Noise Cancellation and Transparency. In Transparency, you are able to hear outside sounds via the built-in mic. These sounds can also be amplified if needed within the Accessibility settings of your iPhone. The Noise Cancellation mode does quite well, although being that they are not an “Over the Ear” headset, they will not perform as well as that kind of headset. I have primarily used them in Transparency mode myself as I’ve mostly needed to be cognizant of other sounds when using the AirPod Pros. I’m not sure that I could give you an accurate example when using them in Noise Cancellation mode.
