Hi Eric, I’ve noticed the same thing. It’s been going on for months. I guess
the only difference between you and me is that I just don’t really care about
it. I know that’s not everybody’s position. And you know, I am shocked shocked
I say that Google is not paying attention to us end-users. What is this world
coming to.🙃😉
I'm glad I run my own e-mail server, for which the spam filtering is my
responsibility and I have control over what happens - as well as the
ability to monitor it.
Those who don't have their own domain names can't change e-mail provider
without changing teir e-mail addresses, which is obviously an
inconvenient position to be in.
As always, the technically well informed users have the advantage here.
I don't know what Google's policies are. If you're a paying customer
(i.e., you aren't using the free version of Gmail, but instead Google
Apps), you may be able to obtain better customer support. Ultimately,
the free account holders are a source of advertising revenue for the
company, rather than customers who are directly funding the service.
