Hi Anders,

The M1 Pro has got the same CPU performance as the M1 Max. Where the
M1 Max wins is in GPU performance, Which I don't think you'd need. The
M1 Max also wins in memory bandwidt, but as Andrei Frumusanu from
anandtech writes in his review article, the CPU complex can't use the
excess memory bandwidt of the M1 Max. Link to that section of the

So in my opinion you'd be well served with a M1 Pro.
As for 16GB vs 32GB, I'm not well equiped to answer that.
