This is not the way it should work. My computer is much older than yours, and so does not have a touchID power button. I suggest that you go into system settings and turn off and back on touchID and see if that helps solve your issue. I have found that sometimes I am not having arrow keys perform right after sleep and I need to restart VoiceOver. r
