hello, I happen to agree with you. Because I have a written expression
disorder I'd say the 85 to 90% of the time when I have something to
write in Microsoft Word I will use the Windows version. That's just
simply because Dragon is only available for windows.
Let's talk about that virtual machine for second. I am having a great
deal of problems with parallels. Specifically the programmed auto starts
whenever I boot this machine. For some reason the program also launches
team viewer automatically on the Mac side. Do you, or anyone else on
this list know a good way to get this to stop. Because the other thing
that happens is because parallels remains in the background or even in
memory somewhere. When the machine goes to sleep it doesn't go to sleep
in fact it crashes Microsoft's power management causing the machine to
crash and I get the error that the sleep cycle is in the process that
starts the sleep cycle crashes after 180 seconds according to the file
that I was able to capture from the crash reporter. The issues regarding
what I just described above have become so severe, that hopefully before
this next week without a second computer that is windows only will come
and I will leave the virtual machine world in favor of a separate
machine so as to avoid the constant crashing when I'm not at my computer
for any length of time. Or as I mentioned above especially when it comes
time to just put the machine to sleep. I think that's a better way to
manage its power at night or when I choose to leave it on and turn in
for the evening.
I realize this might be a lengthy email. But please bear with me. The
issues which I've described have become quite frustrating at times.
Now let me while I have the dictation software's attention. Let you know
that I did figure out a way to get word for the Mac to display text
appropriately not only in speech but more importantly in braille.
Because I'm deaf blind. That means that although both Windows and my Mac
I have screen reading programs that speak a lot. I really do rely on
braille. So it is critically important that I have braille access on
both sides of the machine. In closing I guess I'd say I would keep this
virtual machine on this machine for whenever I can't take the new
machine along or for whenever it's inconvenient to use the second
machine but parallels, and team viewer, autoloading at the start of my
Max boot up and parts of the system sticking around when I put the
machine to sleep and/or forget to shut it down is rapidly becoming a
dealbreaker. Any thoughts from anyone?
As you can guess just be aware that I am dictating everything that is
written above to the computer so here's hoping that it all turned out
okay. If there's something that I've written that you truly do not
understand, drop me a line and ask me what my original intent might have
been. I look forward to clearing up any concerns you might have based on
everything that I've written above. Thank all of you in advance for
reading all of this. Have a great evening.
Sincerely Maurice Mines.

Hello,
There are at least three different versions of Word for Mac .
1. Downloaded from Microsoft directly.
2. Installed via the Apple App Store.
3. The web based Outlook.
Hopefully you are not attempting to use that last one. The other two
should be fairly close to each other, though the one in the App Store
must go through some approvals from Apple in addition to the Microsoft
internal and "insider" reviews.
But I have been able to use Microsoft 365 for about three years with
no hard issues like what you describe.
I do have some troubles navigating tables, but since I run a Windows
VM on the same machine that I use for word processing, I find it
easier to use Word on that side.
Best wishes,
Jonathan Cohn

Hello everyone, here is some clarification regarding the email and I
sent earlier to the list. I am using the version of Microsoft Word
can change in office 365. Also just so that it’s clear I’m running
old S 1012.0.2. Hopefully this clears things up. Hopefully my phone
got all of this correctly so that someone can understand me as I am
dictating it to my phone.
