Greetings All, I am totally blind and want to scan documents (i.e. standard mail) such that that scanning process will convert the scanned document into a text, Word or HTML file so I can peruse that file to “read” it.
I currently have a Brother MFC L2685DW printer/scanner, but I find the “iPrint and Scan” software to be unnecessarily cumbersome. I’m unable to discover the steps to scan a document and process the image into a “readable” file of text, Word or HTML. If anyone reading this can offer this I’ll be most appreciative. I would prefer to use the Brother for this if there is a efficient way to use that scanning software. However, I’m certainly willing to buy a different brand of printer/scanner that would provide much simpler conversion software. When I was using a MS-Windows PC I had an HP model that offered very accessible and efficient software to convert a scanned document into text files. The point here is that I’m receptive to suggestions to printer/scanners that do come with such “blind-friendly" scanning software and appreciate any suggestions in the vain.
