I predict you’ll find the performance of the 14-inch MacBook Pro to be impressive. That’s the difference which I notice most with mine.
If you’ve been running a relatively recent release of Mac OS, then you should encounter very few differences. You may be prompted at some point to install Rosetta if you use any x86-based programs. In my case, installing Microsoft Office required Rosetta. The fact that Apple was able to switch CPU architectures almost invisibly from the user’s perspective is a genuine engineering achievement. Of course, if you use Homebrew, then you’ll notice that it’s now downloading ARM64 packages. You’ll also notice the difference if you compile a program and check the architecture of the executable with the file command – it will show that you’ve created an ARM64 executable. I haven’t needed the recovery mode, so I can’t comment further on that aspect. I'm really curious to know the differences in certain shortcuts for anyone who uses voiceover. I know that the process of getting into recovery for example is quite different as compared to the Intel but i'm not sure how. If I could get a rundown of the differences even the small ones, I would be really grateful because I haven't been able to find much. thanks so much for any help Michael -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
