Ray,

Instead of deleting anything, go into VoiceOver utility, choose navigation, 
locate the popup button, which will say something like ignores VoiceOver 
cursor-mouse cursor or follows VOiceOver cursor-mouse cursor. Make sure it is 
set to ignores VoiceOver cursor-mouse cursor and that should take care of the 
problem. Please let me know if it does not.
