Hello,
If you clicked on the "help" button at the bottom of this settings file you
would get to help about this panel.
In this help there is a table telling you what the three checkboxes are.
The description for the first checkbox says:
Hide your IP address from senders and privately download remote content in the
background when a message is received (instead of when you view it). This
option prevents senders from collecting information when you view a message,
such as when and how many times you view it, whether you forward it, your IP
address, and other data. If you deselect this option, you can choose to
separately hide your IP address and prevent remote content in a message from
being downloaded until you choose to do so. column 2 of 2
Note the last item says you can only control the other checkboxes when this
checkbox is unchecked.
