Hi Jason,
One more point about this idea.
Speaking personally I feel providing a user guide within, and no where
else for an operating system and adaptive technology is sort of the
Severus Snape school of teaching computers.
Instructions on the board, begin...for someone entirely new to adaptive
technology in general, and or a new system in particular that expectation
seems unfortunate.
I feel this may be part of why Linux remains largely a programmers
adaptive tool, too much for a new user to learn at the same time, with few
external resources.
For me personally, I will still likely end up finding an in-person
teacher, have an in-store appointment next week in fact.
When I learned to use the computer the first time I worked with an
individual, got taught the basics, where to go for help, and how to learn
more.
To this day I still draw on those patterns, have with every new machine I
have owned.
So, while the user guide being here, with a frankly insane combination of
keystrokes is terrific to know, that I must understand something about the
computer I am seeking to understand before I can understand is not a
personal positive.
Best,
Kare

Also, the user???s guide can be reached with Ctrl-Option-Question mark.
Apple announced that there would be new voice options in Mac OS Ventura. I
don???t know whether any of those might be more intelligible for your purposes.

Well, now that the log in request is gone, I can hopefully get started learning
my mac better.
save that the tutorial I am anticipating seems to be missing?
to be clear, this goes back several editions, in the voiceover utility menu
there was a tutorial with a voice guiding one through learning basic keystrokes
and navigation. This voice differed from say what I assume is Alex, and helps
you learn how things work.
However when I choose what has to be function-vo-8 to reach the utility I
cannot find the tutorial.
Granted, I am still getting used tot his voice, and may not simply understand
it well yet.
Still, what am I missing? lastly, is there a command which reviews last
information provided by voiceover? I suppose good old fashioned screen review
may be missing smiles.
Thanks,
Karen
