Its kind of interesting.
For years Paypal was a firm closed door after being usable, would not
have one of my accounts were this not the case.
Last week I visited to discover some of the usability was back, only to
incorporate image captchas, never mind the industry wisdom suggesting
secure alternatives.
But the people, those involved with daily customer service are the worse.
That anyone in the 21st century still actually says, sincerely, but is not
there someone who can help you? after hearing I experience blindness,
that is just...well.
Honestly it reflects a part of inclusion work that gets ignored, a site
does the work, but fails to train anyone, expecting all those sharing a
label to hang out together, or kick up a fuss just to get equal service.
Instead of just incorporating the alternative doors into their service
building.

Right? PayPal used to be really usable, and now it’s just gone down the tubes
so fast, and I unfortunately had no idea, sense I hadn’t used the site in
several years due to the onset of Apple Pay, and my no longer working with

Have just one word for that, Paypal..who clearly is not even training customer
service supervisors about access, let alone keeping up with inclusion.
Do not get me started on what I faced trying to vote.
If someone says, hey we can fix your disabled people problem, trust us, there
are companies who will say how high shall we jump?
Then there is the technology privilege concept, if our personal blind person
can use a tool, the millions of others must fit that box as well.

Oh yes, the all famous overlays. I’m really surprised with companies out there
willing to actually put work into testing these sites to make sure they’re
usable with all forms of assistive technology, that companies are still relying
on this garbage.

Companies say their A.I.-powered tools are the best way to fix accessibility
problems online, but many blind people find they make websites
harder to use.
