Just to clarify from personal experience ... Connecting isn't enough. By way of example, my Bose 700 connect both to my Mac Mini and my Sony Android phone. Furthermore, listening generally works well.
The problems start when I try to speak. From then on the performance is unusable. People on my teleconference don't understand what I'm saying, and subsequent audio that I'm hearing can become garbled. This is frustrating, because these are expensive headphones. What's more, they're my second pair that's not worked out along similar behaviors. I also have a Sony pair where the microphone yielded very unsatisfactory results. In my home office I'm relying on a wired Jabra USB (single earpiece headset. I'll be taking this device on the road to a weeklong conference in a few weeks, where many participants will be virtual, though many will also be present in person. But this is USB, not bluetooth. I do have a pair of Jabra T85 buds that do seem to work pretty well, but I use them mainly in situations like taking the train between Washington and New York.
