I just got a new MacBook Pro last month, which came with Monterey (I was still on Big Sur on my old laptop).
I’ve been having an issue that I can’t determine is a hardware or software issue. I’m thinking software because it only happens with two-finger gestures, so I wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. Basically periodically when trying to perform any two finger gesture on the trackpad, it sometimes registers another two finger tap immediately afterwards (or sometimes just a one-finger tap). For instance when trying to use two-finger tap to pause speech, sometimes it registers twice and so speech isn’t paused. Or when flicking down with two fingers to read all, sometimes it registers another two finger tap (or a one finger tap) immediately afterwards, which often causes me to lose my place in what I’m reading. It’s been pretty annoying to say the least. I can otherwise use the trackpad just fine. I can flick, double tap, use three finger gestures, etc, all fine. It’s only when two fingers are used that I encounter this issue. Is this a Monterey issue? Any suggestions on getting it fixed?
