This problem with the unresponsive finder has been getting worse for a while
now, but it is making it more difficult for me to use the machine now. I had
to wait several minutes this time after I rebooted the Mac. Then it just was
very slow instead of completely unresponsive. I know that something is wrong
but I can’t figure out what it is.

Do I need to just bite the bullet and call AppleCare? Thanks for any pointers.
