Hi all,
I don't know whether anyone has tried the Bluetooth Braille keyboards
Frank mentioned with the iPad, but other Bluetooth keyboards have been
paired to the iPad (but not the iPhone). Braille keyboard support
might not be in the iPad OS yet, since this was a feature they had to
add later on for the Mac.
However, a good source of information I've read on the iPad is the FAQ
under the Special Reports of the MacInTouch page:
http://www.macintouch.com/reviews/ipad/faq.html
This includes other information I've seen on other properties I've
read about elsewhere, and that I've seen people react to on list. For
example, one of the early posts said that he was returning the iPad
right away because it couldn't charge off his netbook. Here's the
section from the MacInTouch iPad FAQ page about USB charging:
<begin quote>
Charging is a problem area. The iPad comes with a 10-watt charger. The
USB specification only requires 2.5 watts be supplied, but the iPad's
huge battery charges at peak speeds only using the 10-watt charger or
what Apple terms a "High power USB port", available only on late model
Macs. When connected to astandard USB port, iPad does not charge when
in use, but does charge, slowly, while asleep.
So far our charge testing has included the following:
• Fastest: iPad 10-watt wall charger
• Works: 13" MacBook Pro 2.26 GHz (MacBookPro5,5); iPhone 3GS wall
charger
• Charges only while iPad is asleep: 2008 24" iMac 3.06 GHz
(iMac8,1); 2006 Mac Pro 2.66 GHz (MacPro1,1); Power Mac G5.
• Does not appear to work: DLO PowerPair dual-USB wall charger; an
Apple-certified third-party iPhone car charger.
<end quote>
Incidentally the USB wall chargers as additional accessories (if you
want a spare) are all back-ordered for May delivery, I think. There's
also a nice iLounge review of the iPad out. Here's their mobile page

you can
use Apple external keyboard.

Has anyone gotten a Bluetooth Braille keyboard (like the Easylink or
Humanware Braille keyboard) to work on the Ipad or Iphone?

Hi,
This is the way it was meant to work.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has used a bluetooth keyboard
with the ipad?
I bought one and paired it today but it only seems to work with edit
fields and others where the onscreen keyboard would be used. It
doesn't
seem to work with any of the standard VO commands.
This may well be as designed but I am just curious if I'm missing
anything.
