Well I think those who complain about advertising are going to have to accept the fact it's here and not going away. In fact marketing technology just keeps getting better. As long as the adds do not interfere with what I'm doing,, advertise away. Hell, I've learned to ignore the stupid commercials on the radio, so I imagine I can ignore them on my iPhone as well.
