That is not exactly correct. What iTunes Match does when you have music from CDs in your library, is it tries to “match” the music from your CDs with music in the iTunes database. This does not mean that the music that is matched by iTunes Match is exactly the same as the music from your CDs. The whole thing sounds great in principle, but it sometime just doesn’t work out as expected.
The best thing you can do is try to follow Robert’s instructions, and transfer your current music library and it’s associated data from your old Mac, to your new Mac. If you are not comfortable doing that, an alternative is to copy your music folder from your old Mac to an external drive. Then take each folder in your old music folder, and copy it to the Automatically Add to Music folder on your new Mac. This may be a bit time consuming, but it is guaranteed to transfer all your existing music to your new Mac, while rebuilding your music library. Unless your music library is really huge, you should be able to do this in one evening.
