Technically, you do not save a document as a PDF. Rather, you export a document to PDF format. To do this, go to the Menu Bar > File Menu, then look for the Export submenu. You should find Export to PDF there. An exported PDF file will be Read Only, so if you need to make a change to the document, you will do so in the original Pages document, then export the updated document again.. The original PDF file should be discarded, and replaced with the updated PDF document.
