I know there are people who have had good luck with Orbit displays, but I don't recommend them. I beta tested several of the original Orbit Reader 20s for my regional braille and talking library, and all had dot issues within a few months if not weeks. Sometime after the Orbit Reader 20 Plus was released I purchased one, hoping the braille technology had improved; however, after about nine months two of the dots on that machine would not come up at all. I use braille for many hours every day, but I am very careful with my displays. I should also mention that the pins make some noise when they refresh. Some people aren't bothered by it, but in certain situations it could be problematic. I have heard that the refresh rate and the noise of the Orbit Reader 40 are about the same as the 20 and 20 Plus.
