That's an easy one, Lorie, as I have probably the same one.
The seven ports at the end of the block of ports with the wires coming
from it are the computer ports. The last three, furthest away, on the
opposite end of the port block are charge-only. Plus, if you have very
sensitive fingers, you can feel a slightly drawn circle around these
three ports. I think they look different visually--maybe a different
color, maybe surrounded by that slightly tactile border, but thos last
three do not connect through to the computer.
You could also have gotten this information by connecting a device to
each port to see if the computer recognized it. When I first received
mine and didn't yet know about the drawn border around the charge-only
ports, that's how I figured out which ones were which.

are for the computer and which are for charging. when I read the description it
said it had 7 usb ports and 3 charging ports. if the unit was on my desk,
should the places for the cords be on the right end or the left end?
