First of all, now that you have read the notification, dismiss it. Then check 2 places. 1. Go to the Mac AppStore, and press CMD + NumRow 8, which will take you to Updates. This is where you can see if there are any app updates for any apps you may have installed from the AppStore. 2. Go to System Settings > Software Updates, and see if there are any OS or system related updates pending installation. You can also go to the Apple menu, in the Menu Bar, where you can also find out if there are any pending updates by navigating to either System Settings, or AppStore in the menu.
