It sounds like you’re getting the wooshing sound that you hear when you activate Mission control. Try pressing control up arrow or control down arrow and see if that’s the sound because control up arrow is the default Sonoma keystroke to activate mission control. If you are clicking a mouse and this is happening you could well be activating hot corners. The top left and right and bottom left and right corners Can be clicked to activate certain applications. I’m not sure if they make a washing sound because I don’t use a mouse but that sure sounds like what you’re hearing. Go into desktop and dock settings and you’ll see a section for Mission control and the keyboard shortcut and hot corners that you can set up there.

I am running Sonoma, and do not hear this.
Try going into System Settings > Sounds, and see if you can change your alert sound.

Hi all,
In sonoma, if I click an icon on the desktop, sometimes I hear a whooshing sound. What is that and can it be turned off? Thanks.
