I might add here that if the app you added is something you'll be using a lot, definitely move it to somewhere near the left-hand side of the dock. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as you start and stop apps, the right-most app may move out of view and you have to re-add it. My sighted wife has experienced this a lot on her new iMac.
