After thinking about these glasses for a while, it seems like the only real advantage to them, the Meta Ray bands, the envision, the orcam, is that of the hands-free option. All other functions can be handled on the various apps of the iPhone. I have BlindSquare for knowing where I am when I’m walking around. And then there’s Be My Eyes with the AI feature. There is Seeing AI For cash recognition and all other things that you might find in the Envision AI app and then there is VDScan which is probably the best optical scanner app I’ve ever owned. Every time I look into glasses I come to the realization that hey I can do all this with the phone the only thing I’m missing is doing it hands-free. So, it seems like it’s just another layer of technology that is really unnecessary and is often quite expensive as in the case with the Envision glasses. I don’t know, what do you people think?
