Yes, Event Bright is a real pain. You can try the following, and see if it helps:
1. Open VoiceOver Utility, and select the Verbosity category. 2. Select the Announcements tab, and navigate to "When status text changes under VoiceOver cursor”, and select "Do Nothing”, from the pop-up menu. If that doesn’t help, I suggest you use Aira to connect to your Mac, and assist you with completing the task. If you plan ahead, and have the website open and ready to go when you initiate the call to Aira, you should be able to complete the task within the time allotted for a free call.
