Hey again Paul.

If you’re predominantly Apple, there’s no better than the native disk image
framework on macOS for creating encrypted disk images for storing your
sensitive stuff, and then manipulating those disk images with Disk Decipher on
iOS, which will expose them through the file provider mechanism. Here’s the App
Store link for Disk Decipher:
https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/disk-decipher/id516538625

Actually it’s a universal app: you could just as easily use Disk Decipher on
macOS to operate on disk images without mounting them, though there’s not too
much of a good reason for doing that.

You’ve got to pay for as many file system licences as you need to use the disk
images, but that’s a one-time purchase for each file system, and you can buy a
bundle.

Although DD can work on other types of images like TrueCrypt/VeraCrypt, I
suspect you’ll find other approaches such as archive files easier on non-Apple
platforms.

I hope this is helpful, and have fun. DD is an exceptional app.

Cheers,
Sabahattin
