I'm not exactly sure what the issue is.
I have an AT&T gateway/router. My Linksyss mesh Wi-Fi system connects to my
AT&T Gateway by an ethernet cable. My Linksys system has no need for my AT&T
Wi-Fi network name or password, because it is connected by an ethernet cable.
I would assume you have a similar setup from your ISP, because I am not
aware there is another way for the Linksys unit to connect to the incoming
internet service.

Since I have no idea if my Internet provider was actually down, I was in the
app which asked if I wanted to find my router. That is where I was asked for
the password and recovery key. That never happened to you I take it.
