Hi Matthew, I’ve never used WhatsApp before but I did just download it and confirm my number. Do I need an invite to join this musescore group on WhatsApp?
So far I’m finding it pretty good on Mac. We got Mac folks on the What’s App group. Regarding band in a box, that’s unfortunate.
Matthew, Accessibility for band in the box on the Mac is hopeless, and they have no intention ofreworking their GUI to fix it. The only concern I have is that the dialogue to import Music.xml may be funky as well. But, usually you can get around a little problems by getting someone from be my eyes to help you figure out the window or something. It’s worth a shot. Y Yes you can use band in a box on windows with jaws Scripps, but I have a Mac and I have no intention of buying a windows OS system and jaws just to use band in a box. It seems pretty easy to create a score with just basic cord information for a progression or a court scheme, and then as I understand it you can export it in a.XML file for import into band in a box or other software. That should carry all the information that you would normally enter into the inaccessible band in the back court entry system and it would just be a matter of selecting a style from the style picker window and then hit space to play. Matthew, do I understand it that you use Muse score on the Mac? How are you finding it? I listened to the Accessibility tutorials by Marc Sabatella and it looks like it should be a cakewalk to use this program. Please tell me if you are using new score and how the Accessibility is?. Also, I’ve never used WhatsApp or discord but if this is a group For the new score program I’d be interested. Ahh, good to know So I’m guessing that’s command K for Mac? Again, throwing it out there, if anyone wants to be a part of the what’s app or discord server for Musescore, let me know.
Hi Phil. Yes, you can enter chord symbols in MuseScore. I’ve done this on Windows with NVDA using version 3.6 of MuseScore, but not on the Mac. On Windows if you press control K that will put you in the chord symbol/figured bass dialog. Then you can type in the chord symbol like C major seven or E major and hit enter and then escape. The chord will automatically play back once you exit the dialog. I’ll have to upgrade to version 4 of the software. Thanks for the link with that info. Not sure about accessibility with Band In A Box… there are scripts for windows users on Jaws.
This thread is becoming very interesting to me. I have been trying to find a way to use the band in a box program to access its preset styles and cord grid. My question about new score to all you score users is: is there a way to simply enter a cord symbol in a measure or do I need to enter the individual notes in the cord? OK that’s one question, the next question, Can I export a simple Music.xml file representation of my score? Because, if they can get a Music.xml that can be imported into band in a box bypassing all of its inaccessible cord entry windows and just play what I entered into new score in band in a box And pick a style there. Any information would greatly appreciated I’m not a composer, but I want to use new score to create some kind of backing tracks for my jazz studies in Guitar.Sent from my IPhone
